Six Airbnb Photo Tips To Improve Your Listing

Every Airbnb host should know that your listings’ photos are of the utmost importance for running a successful listing. Having multiple, clear photos of every single room in your space is just the basis. There is more you can do with pictures. Here’s six Airbnb photo tips to improve your listing.

1. Add sufficient pictures of the Neighborhood

Guest don’t just want to know what your space looks like – they also want to have an idea of the area that your house is located in. Why not take a walk around your neighborhood and take a picture of the most appealing spots? Maybe a nice terrace full of people enjoying a drink, a nearby park or a nice statue or piece of art.

It’s a good idea to not only include pictures of your favorite spots, but also add pictures of the activities that people can enjoy in your area. For example, if there are hiking trails nearby, you could add a picture of people hiking. You get the idea.

2. Show off your super fast WiFi Speed

Internet access is quickly becoming a must-have for almost every traveler, even when not on a business trip. We all want to keep in touch with our loved ones at home, share a cool video with friends and keep up-to-date on the latest news.

Almost every listing offers WiFi, but is it fast? What better way to show-off your high-speed internet than to prove it by adding a screenshot of a speedtest. Here’s a site where you can get yours done in under a minute: http://www.speedtest.net.

(For MAC users, use shift-command-4 to grab a screenshot of a selection of the screen)

3. Add a floorplan to your Airbnb photo section

Pictures are a great way to showcase all the different aspects of your apartment, but if you really want to get an idea of the space, you need a floorplan. Don’t have one? Here’s two ways to create one.

Simply open a picture editor like Pixlr, open a picture of a white background (use google images if you don’t have one) and make a rough sketch of your house. It’s not going to be perfect, but at least your guests will have an impression of what the setup of your house is like.

To get a better result, you can create a professional looking floorplan with Floorplanner. It’s free, but it will take a little time to get used to the interface. It’s worth the effort though. You can even create a 3D image if you want to go the extra mile.

4. Don’t forget to include a picture of the entrance to your home

I’m sure you send your guest detailed directions to your place. However, it may still be challenging for some of your guests to locate your precious pad. A few pictures of your building and entrance or door can really help.

5. Add photos of that great view

Do you have an awesome view from your balcony or apartment? Let people know! Take a few inspiring pictures from your balcony, rooftop of living room. Around sunset is a good time for this. Make sure to pick a sunny day!

6. Add a photo of your best reviews

Having some of your former guests vouch for you is the best advertisement you can get. Why not show off a few of your best reviews in your photo section? Simply take a screenshot and add them to your photo section.

When you’re done updating your photo section, comment below with a link to your listing and I’ll take a look and provide some feedback.
